Our first survey of the site (1997) was conducted by archaeologist Aren Maeir of Bar Ilan University under the guidance of Avner Goren. Pioneering geophysical techniques were employed, Paul Baumann of Komex International (ERT - electrical resistivity tomography), Harry Jol of the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire (GPR - ground penetrating radar), Phil Reeder - cartography (University of South Florida) - all under the able guidance of Richard Freund (Greenberg Center, University of Stamford).
In 2008 Foundation Stone was invited to participate in the first full season of excavation at Khirbet Qeiyafa. Little did any of us know how important a site it would turn out to be. Because of its short duration, it became the ideal laboratory for understanding the tenth century before the common era. We literally helped to change the history books - click on the button below to find out more!
